A Brief History

Momentum Oil & Gas LLC was formed in January 2011 and is an investment portfolio company of Kayne Anderson Energy Funds with an initial equity commitment from Kayne Anderson Energy Fund V and management of $50 million.

BNP Paribas, Union Bank and Bank of Texas excecuted a four-year, $100-million credit agreement with us on April 15, 2011.

On June 30, 2011, Momentum Oil & Gas acquired assets in Fashing Field from Newfield Exploration Company and took over field operations on July 1, 2011.

What We Do

We use a two-fold approach to creating value. First, we evaluate and acquire oil and gas properties and use our engineering and geological expertise to maximize ultimate production from reservoirs in mature fields. In our first major acquisition, the Fashing field, we are successfully developing this large Edwards field.

Second, using our extensive experience in regional exploration as well as ideas from our current fields, we explore for opportunities in major South Texas producing trends. We are not active in the Eagle Ford trend at this time.
